The importance of a Pre-school programme
Early years education is the foundation of your child’s success in school, and in life. At BVHS, we celebrate each student’s individuality and encourage them to experience the joy of learning. Our early years programme is Reggio Emilia-inspired and designed to stimulate children’s thinking, communication, investigation, exploration, and problem-solving skills. Our teachers create a fun, interactive learning environment, offering a rich variety of play-based activities that help children develop early literacy and numeracy skills. Physical education is given high priority and is integrated into the curriculum. Each child works and learns at their own pace and according to their capacity in a non-competitive atmosphere. Our program is milestone-based, with clear outcomes to support each child’s individual learning journey.
LEARNING THROUGH PLAY
In early childhood, learning occurs at a speed that will never be equaled. Play is one of the most important ways in which young children gain essential knowledge and skills. For this reason, environments that promote play exploration, and hands-on learning are at the core of BVHS’s effective pre-primary programmes.
We have integrated progressive approaches and practices from the Reggio Emilia approach within our Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS). Inquiry-based learning, which promotes critical thinking skills and aims to support young learners in personal, social, emotional and physical development . This method fosters a love of learning and prepares children for their future educational journey.

EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING DEPARTMENT
Emphasizing holistic development, the department integrates play-based learning and social-emotional growth to build foundational skills for future success. With the expertise of an Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCO), targeted interventions are available to support children with diverse needs. Parent engagement workshops are held twice a term to equip families with tools and strategies to support their child’s development, while regular CPD sessions for teachers focus on their professional and emotional growth, ensuring a high standard of care and learning.
